Speakers & Lectures

Four acclaimed historians and theorists to reveal how three landmark events transformed America.

The Great Lectures is proud to announce our last event of the year. Join us as we explore three landmark events that completely transformed America's political, economic and social climate.

We’ve invited three renowned historians and theorists to take us on an expository journey back in time, to three of America’s most pivotal events, from Lincoln’s assassination and women’s involvement in WW2, to the catastrophe of September 11.

The event will be hosted at our signature Bryant Park Event Space. You may select which lectures you’d like to attend, or participate in the all-day event which includes all three engaging talks + Meet the Speakers + an informal lunch at the venue. Be sure not to miss the final lecture, which will be followed by a complementary “meet and greet” cocktail hour.

The Great Lectures (TGL) Series recognizes that learning is a lifelong endeavor. We give you the opportunity to attend LIVE one-hour talks on a range of topics, led by highly regarded professors from top universities. Our forums don’t just inform, they inspire!

Our last event on September 15th marked one year of TGL, and we celebrated with a packed house at the Times Square Event Space. Held on International Democracy Day, we discussed the fate of American democracy with four exceptional speakers.
